Achelois

€250.00

Description:

Medium & Materials: Experimental chemigram on fine-art photographic paper, one-of-a-kind original, signed and dated, not a print or reproduction.
Dimensions: 17.7 cm x 24 cm

About the Work:
“Achelois” explores fluidity, transformation, and the unstable boundary between form and dissolution. Created through the chemigram process, the work emerges from the interaction of photographic chemistry, light, time, and gesture. The resulting image is shaped by processes that cannot be entirely controlled, allowing chemical reactions to create their own traces, textures, and movements across the photographic surface.

Why This Piece Matters:

  • “Achelois” is a one-of-a-kind material experiment, with its final surface emerging through an unrepeatable combination of chemistry, gesture, and time.

  • The work considers transformation as an ongoing state, where forms appear, shift, and dissolve rather than remaining fixed.

  • Its intimate dimensions encourage close observation, revealing subtle variations and chemical traces across the surface.

  • The piece forms part of my broader investigation into material transformation, impermanence, and the tension between artistic intention and chance.

Collector’s Note:
“Achelois” is not a conventional photographic print, but a singular photographic object created through chemical intervention. The work preserves the physical evidence of a process in which the materials themselves participate in determining the final image, making each piece inherently unrepeatable.

Presentation & Shipping:
Will be shipped flat, carefully protected between acid-free backing boards and archival tissue, in rigid protective packaging to ensure safe arrival. Framing upon request (framing cost additional).
