Aphrodite

€250.00

Description:

Medium & Materials: Experimental chemigram on fine-art photographic paper, one-of-a-kind original, signed and dated, not a print or reproduction.
Dimensions: 17.7 cm x 24 cm

About the Work:
“Aphrodite” explores the relationship between emergence, desire, and material transformation. Created through the chemigram process, the work is formed through the interaction of photographic chemistry, light, time, and gesture. The image develops without a fixed visual outcome, allowing the materials to react and transform in ways that are simultaneously guided and unpredictable.

Why This Piece Matters:

  • “Aphrodite” is a unique material experiment, created through a process that cannot be precisely repeated, making each surface entirely singular.

  • The work considers transformation not simply as a visual effect, but as an inherent part of the making process—where chemical reactions become marks, textures, and traces.

  • Its intimate scale encourages close viewing and allows the subtle qualities of the photographic surface to reveal themselves gradually.

  • The piece connects to my wider practice through an ongoing investigation of materiality, transformation, impermanence, and the balance between control and chance.

Collector’s Note:
“Aphrodite” is not a conventional photographic print or reproduction, but a singular object created through chemical and physical intervention. The final image is a record of an ephemeral process, preserving a moment of material transformation that cannot be recreated exactly.

Presentation & Shipping:
Will be shipped flat, carefully protected between acid-free backing boards and archival tissue, in rigid protective packaging to ensure safe arrival. Framing upon request (framing cost additional).
