Description:
Medium & Materials: Experimental chemigram on fine-art photographic paper, one-of-a-kind original, signed and dated, not a print or reproduction.
Dimensions: 17.7 cm x 24 cm
About the Work:
“Artemis” is part of my ongoing exploration of material transformation, chance, and the unpredictable nature of photographic processes. Created through the chemigram technique, the work emerges through the interaction of photographic chemicals, light, gesture, and time rather than through conventional image-making. The resulting surface records these physical reactions, creating an image that is both deliberate and uncontrollable.
Why This Piece Matters:
“Artemis” is a unique material experiment, with its surface and chemical reactions forming an image that cannot be exactly replicated.
The work reflects an interest in transformation and impermanence, where the photographic image becomes an object shaped by physical process rather than simply a representation.
Its intimate scale makes it well suited to close viewing and can exist independently or alongside larger photographic, sculptural, and material works.
As part of my wider practice, the piece extends the same investigation of material, process, and transformation found throughout my work with glass, stone, and other mediums.
Collector’s Note:
“Artemis” is not a conventional photographic print, but a singular record of a chemical and physical process. Each mark, tonal shift, and variation is produced through the unpredictable interaction of materials, making the finished work an unrepeatable artifact of its own making.
Presentation & Shipping:
Will be shipped flat, carefully protected between acid-free backing boards and archival tissue, in rigid protective packaging to ensure safe arrival. Framing upon request (framing cost additional).
